Debra Lou Bucher-Harris, born on December 15, 1960, in Smyrna, TN, left the world a little less bright with her passing on November 10, 2025. Known to many for her compassionate spirit, courageous heart, and loving nature, Debra was an embodiment of kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Her resilience inspired those around her, offering comfort and strength even in the most challenging times. Her radiant spirit found joy in the simple pleasures of life – the satisfaction of completing a challenging puzzle, the delight in feeding her family and any animal that crossed her path, and the tranquility found in her favorite TV shows and phone games.
Debra spent her life in service of those she loved, particularly her family and grandchildren. She was a beacon of love and generosity, always extending her nurturing spirit to those around her. Her unwavering faith as a Christian provided her with an unshakeable foundation of strength and humility. She lived by the adage from the Book of Corinthians, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." Debra's love indeed covered a multitude, her heart a haven for all who knew her.
Debra leaves behind a legacy of love, mirrored in the hearts of her children Nichole Bucher and Brandon Bucher. She now joins in eternal rest her parents, William Bates and Jean Nichols. As we say farewell to Debra at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 2:30 pm, we remember her not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the love and joy she brought into our lives.
She has joined her mother, Jean; her father, Bill; her sisters, Traci and Caron; her brother, Kevin; and her husband, "Red." She leaves behind her daughter, Nichole; her son, Brandon; her grandchildren, Shaun, Lee, Will, Anthony, and Abby; her great-grandson, Easton; and many other friends and loved ones. She was also a mother and grandmother to many others whose lives she touched.
In remembrance of Debra Bucher-Harris, we encourage friends and family to share their memories and photos on her memorial page. Each story and picture will serve as a testament to Debra's life, a celebration of her spirit, and a comfort to those she leaves behind. Let us remember her as she was – compassionate, courageous, loving, and resilient – a testament to the power of a life lived with love.
Revelation 21:4 NLT
