It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Gerard Berube, who left this world on December 10, 2025, at the age of 86. He passed peacefully, surrounded by love and constant support.
Born on May 7, 1939, in Biddeford, Maine, Donald later made Arlington, Texas his home, eventually returning to Maine to be with his loved ones during the final years of his life. He was known for his generosity, warm personality, and ability to make others feel valued. A gifted storyteller, he took great joy in calling loved ones, talking through the trip routes he once drove, sharing memories, visiting with friends, and bringing laughter into every room he entered.
Donald dedicated many years to his career driving trucks across the country, a profession he took great pride in, as well as his involvement in the Knights of Columbus. His commitment to service, community, and faith shaped much of his life and left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, and by three of his children: Donald Jr., Karen, and Cynthia. He is survived by his son, Dean, and his daughter, Kimberly. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who will long remember his loyal, loving, and gentle nature.
A viewing will take place at Luna Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17, at 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Donald's life will be held on Thursday, December 18, at St. Matthew's Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his honor.
Donald will be deeply missed, and his memory will continue to be carried with enduring gratitude by all who knew and loved him.
