Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lissett Rivera Pérez, who left our world on July 24, 2026. Born on May 13, 1975, in Newark, New Jersey, Lissett lived 51 vibrant years filled with courage, resilience, and unconditional love for her family and friends.

Known affectionately as Lissie, Lisita, and Lis, Lissett was a beacon of support and loyalty for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her resilient spirit was evident in every aspect of her life, from her work as a Transportation Security Operations Center Operator, to her personal endeavors. Lissett lived in Isabela, Puerto Rico, before settling in Hurst, Texas for the last 8 years. In her spare time, she indulged her keen interest in unraveling mysteries by watching crime documentaries and watching heartfelt series, and enjoyed unwinding with music and the company of her friends and family.

Lissett's most cherished accomplishments were not her professional accolades, but rather, her courageous and nurturing role as a mother. She is survived by her children, Alexis Acevedo Rivera, Joshua Rosas Rivera, and Yahairis Rosas Rivera , and her daughter-in-law, Aysha Ortiz. Her sister Ivette Royster, also mourns her loss. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elvin Rivera and Laura Iris Pérez.

In the Bible, Proverbs 31:25-26 says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” These verses reflect Lissett's life, a woman who was clothed in strength, carried herself with dignity, and spread wisdom and faithful instruction to those around her. We will remember her as a courageous, loyal, loving, resilient, and supportive woman who enriched the lives of all who knew her.

We invite those who knew and loved Lissett to pay tribute to her life by sharing their memories and photographs on her memorial page. Your contributions will serve as a reminder of the love and joy she brought into our lives.
