Refugia Barajas, a loving and devoted wife and mother. Born on July 4, 1952, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Refugia passed away on March 23, 2026, at her residence in Lancaster, Texas.
Refugia was a woman of strength and substance, who took life by the horns and navigated its challenges with grace and resilience. She was a beacon of light to those who had the privilege of knowing her, her warmth radiating into the lives of everyone she met. She lived out the truth of the quote, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart," by Helen Keller, for Refugia made everyone around her feel loved and valued just by being herself.
She carried with her a heart full of compassion. Refugia was the epitome of strength and grace, qualities she passed onto her beloved daughter, Eliza Barajas. She was a woman of unwavering faith, and her spiritual richness was a guiding light for many around her.
Refugia is survived by her husband, Eliser Barajas and daughter, Eliza Barajas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Victoriano Lara and Fidela Martinez. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she has touched but never met.
