Marcus Abdul Leday Jr., age 22, of Arlington, Texas, entered eternal rest on December 30, 2025, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
Marcus was born on January 5, 2003, at Women's Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and later made his home in Arlington, Texas. From a young age, Marcus displayed a deep love for music. He began playing the trumpet in the 7th grade and continued throughout 12th grade, carrying his passion for music with pride and dedication. Music was not just a talent for Marcus—it was a source of joy, expression, and connection.
Marcus was known for his loving spirit, warm heart, and the deep love he had for his family—especially his beloved daughter. His life, though brief, left an everlasting impact on those who knew and loved him. His presence brought laughter, light, and meaningful memories that will forever be cherished.
Marcus is survived by his parents, Marcus Abdul Leday Sr. and Tameika Leday; his treasured daughter, Ja'Nai Marie Leday; his siblings, Destiny A. Leday, Precious A. Leday, and Joshua A. Leday; and his nephews, Kaiser and Kason.
He is lovingly remembered by his aunts Sharrell Allen, Mykayla Robinson, and Tiana Robinson; uncle Carl Curry Jr.; his aunt Shawanda Bennett, and uncle Marlon Bennett; uncle Isaac Leday Jr. and aunt Colleen Leday. He was preceded in death by his uncle Kenneth Robinson, who passed away on November 22, 2006.
Marcus deeply loved his grandparents Tammie Underwood, Isaac Leday Sr., and Debra Leday. He also mourned the loss of his grandfather Luther Lee Robinson, who preceded him in death on February 15, 2012.
He is further survived by cousins Marquez Leday, Timwayne Leday, Isaac Leday III, Gavin Bennett, Gabriel Bennett, Jocquenne Bernard Jr., and Amani Stevens, along with a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life service honoring Marcus Abdul Leday Jr. will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church,
3122 Metropolitan Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75215.
Viewing: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Service: 12:30 p.m.
A meal will follow the service.
