Obituary

Susana V. Gaxiola passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, in Midlothian, Texas, just one month shy of her 78th birthday. Born on August 11, 1948, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Susana’s life was marked by a spirit of compassion, resilience, and grace.

Throughout her years, Susana touched the lives of many with her kindness and unwavering dedication to those she cared for, embodying the values that shaped her from childhood through adulthood. Her journey took her from the vibrant landscapes of Albuquerque to the warm community of Midlothian, where she spent her later years.

Susana’s beloved husband, Rene Gaxiola, preceded her in death. Though she experienced the deep sorrow of this loss, she carried his memory close to her heart, continuing to honor their shared life and the love they built together.

From an early age, her life was devoted to serving the Lord. At just 10 years old, she was baptized at the First Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For over 40 years, she faithfully served alongside her husband in ministry as a devoted pastor’s wife, answering God’s call together.

She was honored to serve as the Bishop’s wife and as President of the Dorcas Society for the New Mexico District, where she faithfully led and encouraged women in their walk with Christ, leaving a lasting spiritual legacy. During those 40 years of ministry, she and her husband also spent six years serving as missionaries in Barcelona, Spain. It was there that God blessed them with their only son, Gabriel.

Philippians 1:21

“For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”

Susana’s legacy is one of quiet strength and steadfast loyalty. Her ability to face life’s challenges with dignity and to extend warmth and support to those in need will remain an inspiration to all who knew her. Her absence will be keenly felt by friends, neighbors, and those whose lives were brightened by her presence.

Details regarding the funeral and burial service will be announced at a later date and will take place at French Funerals & Cremations located at 10500 Lomas Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87112.
